Special Election for State Senator District 1 and 5

The next challenge has arrived, and Sussex County is ready to meet it. With the special elections for Senate Districts 1 and 5 on Saturday, February 15th, and early voting from February 4–13, this is a key opportunity to demonstrate the strength, organization, and effectiveness of Sussex County Republicans.

Many will recall the statewide support that led to Valerie Jones-Giltner’s successful campaign and a crucial victory. Now, it's time to pay it forward by supporting Republican colleagues in New Castle County. This isn’t just a call to action—it’s a real test of our ability to organize, mobilize, and execute as we gear up for next year’s elections.

Here’s How You Can Help Right Now

The Delaware Republican Party app

  1. Download the DE GOP App

The Delaware Republican Party app will be a vital tool in our efforts. The app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Through the app, volunteers can:

  • Send personalized texts or phone calls.

  • Obtain addresses for handwritten postcards.

  • Track outreach progress in real time.

Why Are We Sending Personal Messages?

Studies indicate that personalized outreach, like handwritten postcards, can increase voter turnout by 20%, making them a powerful tool in securing Republican victories. The DE GOP will be providing instructions on how to use the app in the coming days. If you’ve used the app before, you’re already familiar with its “near me” feature, which displays nearby voters. Soon, the app will be updated to allow you to specifically select voters in Senate Districts 1 and 5.

Don’t delay—download the app today so you’re ready when the Senate District 1 and 5 voter lists are added in the coming days.

2. Sign Up to Make Calls or Send Texts from Home

Volunteers can also assist by reaching out to voters directly using good old fashioned phone calls or text messages. Interested volunteers should contact Joyce Hoover, the New Castle County Republican Party Field Coordinator, at JoyceHoover@outlook.com, providing their name and phone number.

  • Volunteers will receive a Google Sheet with voter data and a call script.

  • A Gmail account is required to access the necessary materials.

3. Postcard Writing Events

Join the 38th District Meeting on Monday, January 27th, where they will host a postcard-writing event alongside similar efforts occurring across all Representative Districts in Sussex County. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their smartphones with the DE GOP app downloaded to efficiently assign addresses.

4. Create a Google Voice Number

For those who prefer not to use personal phone numbers, a free Google Voice number can be created. Watch this tutorial to learn how.

United for Victory

Every call, text, and postcard will be instrumental in securing Republican success in the special elections. Sussex County Republicans are encouraged to unite, take action, and demonstrate their unwavering commitment to the cause.

Republican leadership eagerly anticipates success stories from each RDC and EDC as efforts gain momentum. With a strong, collective push, Sussex County can once again lead the way and celebrate another Republican victory.
